A valid full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other requirements specified in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations for car hire can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Seaham office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are generally payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT when applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, please conduct a detailed inspection of the vehicle and promptly report any pre-existing damages. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, acknowledging normal wear and tear. Any new damages will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel as when collected; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, contact us immediately, as late return fees may apply. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Details

Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial liability. We suggest reviewing these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless you opt for additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or a breach of these Terms will be your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the booking type and the notice period provided. Please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Use Policies
Prohibited uses of the rental vehicle:
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Additionally, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating outside of the specified geographical boundaries is unacceptable.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Seaham is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
